Rocklin and Roseville – A Great Place to Call Home
My Family Loves Living Here
My wife and I moved from the Bay Area, Marin specifically, to the Rocklin/Roseville area in 2002. It was a choice we made by luck really. It was the only area we visited that just felt right to us. There is so much here so close by. The Sierra’s and Lake Tahoe are just up the road and the coast is just out west about the same distance from our location. We can go to the city, the coast or to the mountains for the day without having to spend too much time in the car. It’s a perfect location for us.
Over the last 10 years, the area has grown a lot. Rocklin, for instance, has grown 48% since the 2000 census. That has brought in far more services than existed prior to 2000. The area has much to offer.
The location is just one of the reasons we love it here. There are others, such as:
Great Schools
Rocklin and Roseville have some of the best schools in Placer County. Here is a link to GreatSchools.com for Rocklin, click here, and another for Roseville, click here. Great data for anyone looking to move to the Rocklin/Roseville area with children.

nto State being the largest, as well as a few junior colleges and private schools. Sierra is a junior college right here in Rocklin.
Shopping Close By
The Galleria at Roseville, near the intersection of Hwy. 65 and Hwy. 80, has just gone through an enormous renovation and has added many new stores. It has all of the larger department stores, Macy’s, Nordstrom’s, JC Penny’s and many smaller boutique stores. Click here for a link to the Galleria at Roseville.
For the do it yourself’er, Lowe’s and Home Depot are just minutes from anywhere in either city.
Restaurants
Most of the major chain restaurants are also close by. PF Changs, Macaroni Grill, Chili’s and BJ’s Brewery just to name a few. Click here for a guide to restaurants in Rocklin and click here for Roseville.
Outdoor Activities
Being at the base of the Sierra foothills, there is plenty of outdoor recreation. Folsom Lake is not far away and it’s a great place for boating and fishing. Additionally, the Sacramento and American Rivers are also very close and provide wonderful recreational activities.
Hiking, mountain biking, boating, fishing..this area has so much to offer.
There are also numerous championship golf courses very close by. Whitney Oaks GC & Sunset Whitney CC in Rocklin and Sierra View CC & Diamond Oaks GC in Roseville. Not to mention the great golf courses at Del Webb Lincoln Hills and Del Webb Sun City Roseville. Both communities have wonderful facilities and are just a short drive away.
