Strikes Family Bowling – Rocklin

Strikes Early Bird Special

My wife and son took advantage of this last Sunday as I was showing property. They said it was a very popular event and a very good value.

The special runs until 12/21/2008, on Saturday and Sunday from 9 to 11am.  Games are $1.50 per game and $1.50 shoe rental if you need them.  The arcade is also 1/2 off as well.

Coach’s Restaurant also prepares a fresh brunch on Sunday mornings from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. The scones are promoted as being very good.

I’ve been to Strikes many times as it’s right around the corner from my home.  I’ve always enjoyed myself there.  The food at Coach’s is pub style and they have big screens everywhere.  Watching a game there is always fun.  They have a good beer selection as well.

Stop in if you’re into bowling.  It’s a clean, fun and safe.

Happy Holidays!

Veteran’s Day in Roseville

Being a veteran, it’s important for me to reflect on the sacrifices that others have made so that our country could be free.  Not just today but everyday.  I’m eternally proud to have served our country voluntarily for just under 8 years.  It was one of the best experiences of my life and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.  Gratefully, I wasn’t called upon to go to war but if I had, I would have done my job the best that I knew how to do.

Thank you to all veterans who have served our country.  Your sacrafice means more to me and our country than you know.

Then another at the WW II monument in downtown Roseville, sponsored by the United Veterans of Roseville, the City of Roseville, Surewest and the Roseville Historical Society. The ceremony will be celebrated at 2 p.m.  Their motto this year revolves around the Revolutionary War.

2nd Annual “Splendor of The Trees”

The 2nd Annual Splendor of the Trees is being held this Saturday, Nov. 15 at RC Willey in Rocklin.

This will be a gala event to benefit The Gathering Inn who provide for the homeless in Placer County.  Last years event was very successful.

There will be beautiful designer trees for sale by raffle and silent auction.  I believe admission is $10 for adults and kids under 18 are free.  Contact them to verify that.

For information about volunteering for this charitable cause, contact The Gathering Inn at 916-791-9355 or email Suzi Defosset at sdefosset@surewest.net.  You can also visit their website by clicking right here.

The Gathering Inn provides shelter for those who have none during the coldest months of the year.  They sure could use a hand in continuing to provide for the community good.  Give them a call if you have a chance.

In times like these, participating in events like these help to pull the community together.
