Welcome To SREV
My son Ryan loves to eat out. We do too but I think he likes it even better than either my wife or I do.
For his birthday on Monday, he wanted to go to breakfast at the Granite Rock Grill on Pacific Street in Rocklin. He has been there with his grandparents and really likes the food. We allowed him to be late to school so he could have the breakfast of his choice on his birthday. Some parents right?? LOL
I thought I’d do a mini review of our experience there in case you’re thinking of getting a bite in the older section of Rocklin.
This is a down home country restaurant, no two ways about it. The staff can refer to you as “sweetie” or “honey” at any moment and are very polite. My coffee was never close to being empty..that can be a pain as I tend to get it just how I like it then they fill it up again. Today with lagging customer service seemingly all around us, it’s a nice problem to have.
Our food came out promptly and was fresh. I had half of an eggs benedict and some hashbrowns with a little bite of a biscuit and some fresh blackberry jam.
The biscuits are a little too large and not as tasty as I like them. I’d prefer they were smaller with more taste but that said they weren’t bad at all. The fresh preserves are a nice touch. In typical country fashion they are in Kerr Mason jars right on the table. Reminds me of grandma’s!
All in all, I’d rate my meal as good but not great. I lived in Monterey for many years where amazing breakfast places are on almost every corner so wherever I go has to be really special to rate highly in my book.
If you’re looking for a down home country meal from really nice people who will bend over backwards to make sure your experience is a good one, Granite Rock is a good choice.
Thanks for visiting!
